Did you know within your local area, there are only about 55 members in the fire service? Did you know, that only about 10 of those members respond regularly to fire calls? This a a lage burden for a small number of people. Did you also know that typically those same ten members are the ones who do all of the fundraising for their company? That's why we need your help. Time is one of everyone's most valuable assets. But what if noone answered the call? What if it happended to you at three o'clock in the morning, and everyone stayed asleep in their beds. We
need both active firefighters and non - active alike. Active members consist of members with proper training and certification to fight fire. But, you don't have to put your life on the line to save others. Outside support is just as improtant to us as the ones who go inside and actually fight the fire. The firehouse is also a great oppurtunity for teenagers to get involved with. They learn self-worth, what it is like to help somebody, they stay off the streets, and learn friendship. The fire service is one of the largest brother/sisterhoods in the world.
If you are interested in becoming an active, non-active, or social member, (oh yeah, did I mention we pay for the training?), then please print off the above application, and either mail it in or drop it off in the mailbox at the station. We have in-house training every Tuesday at 630pm. That would be a perfect time to meet some of the members. They can answer any of the questions you may have. You can also call 732-3977 and leave a message if no one is there.
